Thirteen Reasons Why

Thirteen Reasons Why - Jay Asher I read this book because it was recommended to me by a friend who read it and liked it.

I, however, did not enjoy it all that much. Hannah is a whiny girl who killed herself because her feelings were hurt. Suicide is a terrible and tragic thing, so if an author is going to write a story about teen suicide, at least make the person someone the reader can sympathize with, and someone who has REAL problems!!! And as another reviewer pointed out, there are no "reasons" for suicide; one commits suicide because of a "bug in their brain" and a lack of self-worth and self-esteem. I did not like Hannah. I felt nothing for her but annoyance and maybe pity.

I didn't like Clay either, he didn't have much of a personality and I could not, for the life of me, fathom why he had a crush on Hannah.

So yeah. I didn't like it. And I don't recommend it.
