Wow, this was awesome!
I've said it before (many times), and I'll say it again; Characters are very important to me. And Openly Straight has some good ones. I really like Rafe; he's funny and relatable and overall a very developed protagonist. I also like Rafe's friends Toby and Albie, and Ben. And Claire Olivia was pretty cool too.
And I like the romance between him and Ben. It slowly transitions from a friendship into a romance. I really hate insta-love, so I was so glad when there was none of that here :)
Openly Straight also raises some interesting questions. Can you be true to yourself while not telling anyone about such an inherent part of you? I think it's a very thought-provoking book, while not being too boring or serious.
Overall a great read and I definitely recommend it.
