I have to say, Where'd You Go Bernadette was a bit of a let-down. I was expecting it to be great. It was not. Don't get me wrong, it was not a bad book- it just wasn't amazing. The book was supposed to be about Bernadette disappearing. But, Bernadette did not disappear until the second half of the book. That's why the second half was more interesting. The first half was told in the form of emails, letters, etc. emails from Bernadette to her assistant, letters from their neighbor Audrey to a friend, and other (semi-random) stuff. The second half was mostly Bee narrating. This was confusing. Maria Semple should have either made the whole book in the form of emails, letters , etc. or the whole book in the form of Bee narrating. So this book was very disappointing, but it was still ok. Not great, not amazing, but not terrible either. It was Ok. Mediocre. Average. I probably won't read it again. And frankly, I feel it was a waste of money. Luckily it was 20% off. So take my advice and if you have to read it, just check it out from a library or borrow it.
